Like many born and bred Dutch photographers, Robbert Koene received his photographic training at the famed School for Photography in Den Haag. He quickly found and developed his calling towards fashion photography, the vigorous pursuit of which led him to the sunny skies of Southern Africa. Having been settled here since 1985, he has developed into one of SA's foremost retail fashion photographers. His loose and funky creative hand writing, has become a signature to which his clients all keenly subscribe to.
He has developed an extensive knowledge of the Southern African locations and weather conditions, a resource keenly enjoyed by, not only his local, but his international clients, naturally.
No surprise that over the years, his wonderment of Africa, its culture and influences started coming to the fore and Robbert found himself drawn towards shooting interiors, landscapes and people. Having become quite a seasoned traveler and explorer, his portfolio now includes wonderful essays on various trips throughout the world.
